okanagan

Molly was fortunate to be mentored by Okanagan artist Glenn Clark at the Penticton Art Gallery's young@art program for many years. When she passed the program's age bracket she started volunteering there. She has exhibited and sold paintings in the Penticton Art Gallery's annual Under $500 show for the past 5 years and participated in the Gallery's Plein Air painting event several times. In 2017 Molly received the Penticton Arts Council's
Youth Art Award.
During her last year of high school she continued to hone her artistic skills with Penticton artist and designer Skyler Punnett, and painted during her spare in the art room at Pen High with the help and encouragement of Pen High art teacher, Shauna Reid.

balsamroot blossoms on campbell, 2019 - submission for 'budding artists' youth art exhibition at Tumbleweed Gallery, June 2019

“I love painting landscapes of my favourite places. For the theme blossom I chose to paint the view of Okanagan Lake from Campbell Mountain, where I often go hiking with my dog. It is especially beautiful in spring when the natural meadows of yellow balsamroot flowers are in full bloom.”
