textbook project: introduction to psychology & neuroscience (2019-2020)

In 2018 Molly Wells won the Neuron Art Battle Contest put on by the Dalhousie Psychology & Neuroscience department. Starting in 2019, Molly worked with Dr. Jennifer Stamp and Dr. Leanne Stevens to develop scientific illustrations for use in PSYO1011/PSYO1012, Dalhousie's introductory psychology course. The illustrations were later added to an open source textbook, Introduction to Psychology and Neuroscience. All illustrations created for this project have colour palettes designed for student accesibility. See more regarding this topic in this blog post about "Art in the Sciences" or "Blending Art and Science," or this research article about the use of visuals in neuroscience education.
